Daniel Enskat.

Daniel Enskat has spent 25 years working exclusively in asset management — as a researcher, as an operator, and as a strategic growth advisor to boutique managers globally. Since 2019, that work has run in parallel with a deliberate, frontier-level immersion in artificial intelligence and its application to investment management.

He began his career in 1999 as a consultant at the World Bank in Paris, where he worked on country analysis and project portfolio evaluation.

He joined Strategic Insight in 2000, where over the following decade he built the firm’s consulting and research franchise from the ground up. As Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Consulting & Research, he led a 45-person team that constructed and maintained the industry’s leading global asset management cash-flow database, integrating data from S&P, Morningstar, and Lipper into what became a primary intelligence source for product managers, distribution heads, and C-suite strategists across the industry. Over that period he worked directly with more than 300 clients worldwide — asset managers, distributors, fund platforms, and institutional investors — on product development, distribution strategy, channel expansion, and competitive positioning. He also led Strategic Insight’s Asia build-out and the acquisition and integration of its Australian business.

In 2011 he joined Institutional Investor (Euromoney Group) as Global Head of Asset Management, running the firm’s executive institutes and roundtables for CEOs, CIOs, CFOs, and institutional investors across the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. From offices in New York and Hong Kong, he led the US and European franchises and expanded the Asia-Pacific presence.

In 2013, Daniel co-founded Warren Enskat Group, a boutique advisory firm focused on strategic growth work for asset managers — team liftouts, boutique acquisitions, distribution platform design, and M&A advisory. Over the following 13 years, Daniel led 75+ completed transactions totaling over $200B in AUM. Every engagement was personally researched and led. His relationships span chief executives, chief investment officers, and heads of distribution at boutiques and major firms across the US, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

The AI pivot.

In 2019, a top-ten global asset manager commissioned Daniel to lead an 18-month global study on AI in investment management. The mandate was to understand, at the research frontier, what AI would mean for how asset managers invest, distribute, and operate.

The work took him to the Allen Institute for AI in Seattle, the IDSIA AI research center in Lugano, EU AI research programs, Facebook, Amazon, Australia’s federal AI initiative, and dozens of other academic and industry labs. The resulting 250-page report, delivered in late 2019, became the private blueprint for how that firm approached AI.

It also became the starting point for the next phase of Daniel’s career. Over the five years that followed, he built a Business AI advisory practice, developed multiple applied products, and immersed himself in the operational use of agentic and generative AI systems as they matured.
